Lucas skating competition in Tulcan

Lucas and his team mates representing the Pichincha province singing the national anthem at the opening of the games in Tulcan. This town is located on almost 3000 meters over sea level and famous in Ecuador for being freezing cold and I can agree after 3 nights here.

Lucas in his first race alone against the clock. He did really well but as he is 6 years he has to join the group for 7-8 year old boys and is if course not as fast as them.

Kiaras birthday party at the daycare center today.

On Monday and Tuesday we have holiday for the carneval in Latin America so many schools and daycare centers had a small party with the kids today. THis is how our Kiara camo home, like a butterfly, from her daycare center.

Three devils and a cake, what can go wrong? Lucas and Kiara ate the chocolate decoration before the party even started and Dana was more confused with this big thing infront of her.

Lucas ran back home from daycare center when he heard that there were gona be a cake at home, such a good brother......

Visit to Mindo

We went to Mindo for the first time in ages and I had forgotten how much I love that place and the birds that you can see so easy. Here are some Tucans that are my favourite and below some other birds that came around while talking to our friend at her place.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lucas swimming nice and calm, no rush here. He came second or third at the end.

Kiara also joined to Lucas school to see him swimming but first they had a look at the older kids that had some games and fun at the school.

Working hard

It is a tough job but somebody has to do it. Here we are on top of Bartolome Islands highest volcano looking down on the beach where we are snorkeling later.

Sally Lightfoot Crab

I was on Bartolome Island the other week and as everywhere on Galapagos you will meet these crabs that are running around on the lava rocks. Just love the colors......

Amazon lunch

From left to right we have cooked yucca root with aji (like chili), steemed Plantano (kind of banana), todays fish vegetarian Piraya baked in palm leaf over the fire and last but not least the larva grilled on a stick over the fire (like Sago worms) Yummmy........

Blow fish

Me and Livio was out fishing with a group of Swedish people in the Amazon for Piranya but all we got was this small blow fish, not much to eat I might add.
