Shopping trip to Cuenca and Saraguro

A while ago me and Miriam went for an shoping trip to buy things that we beleave can be exported to Sweden. Our first stop was in Cuenca witch is an beatiful big town with a lot of nice arcitecture. Here is one park that we came across walking around in the city. Cuenca is about 8 hours away from Quito I think so we took the night bus to go here.

Walking around to find a phone.

Most of the things we bought where from this family. The doughter even acted as an model for me to show some different clothings for my friends.

The local market where you can find everything you need to a good price.

The biggest church in Cuenca and one of the biggest in Ecuador.

A little square where they only sold flowers of al kinds of colours and shapes. From here we went on our shoping trip to Saraguro for some more treasure hunting.

Just a street with some nice buildings.

Me and Miriam in Saraguro where we hoped to find some handcraft that I will send to my friends in Sweden for selling. The town was quite smal but charming and as usual in smal towns the biggest building is the churtch. This is about 8 hours away from Quito so its not a place that I will se to often.

The tipical dressing for men in Saraguro with pants that ends just under the knee.

The play center for the kidds in town at the square. Seems like its fun anyway.

Just by the busstop viewing down at the park.

Here we found some of the necklesses that we will trye to send to Sweden for selling.

Dont know if they call it a bus or a truck but it seams to work as both in this area.

In the afternoon the clouds started to come in to the city and the temperature dropped a few degreas at once.

About 2 weeks ago Miriam and I went with Roxanne to here hostfamily and woulontare woork as an teacher in Wilcabamba. This town has quite a lot of hostels and turists coming for hourse ridind walking in the mountins or just to relax for a while. As long you stay in town you will never be further away than 5 min walking from this little square in the center. Its surrounded by mountins and the views are reely beatifull around here.

Roxanne and Miriam with Patricio the headmaster of the school for older kidds having a look around.

The local market at the bus station.

Just some old guys taking it easy.

Why plan where your house shuld be built when its so easy to just make some smal adjustments afterwords.

The other school where voluntares will work. Here al the older kidds in the region goes.

Wherever I go in this country the kidds can not get enough of having their picture taken. Wilcabamba was no exeption.

The parking place for the family living here i guess.

The churtch in the middle of the town.

Not to many peoples live here and as a nice change to Quito thers not a lot of traffic and noices.

One of the places where voluntares will work as english teachers.

Wilcabamba is an smal town surrounded by mountains and the temperature constantly stays around 25-28C. THerefor its known for people having a long life.

The hostfamilys kitchen. I know it doesnt look to good but the food was exelent.

Here where the voluntares will live while working. Its not a castle but it got its charm.
