Mindo house construction

First time I work with plumbing and fingers crossed that everything works and is water tight.

I start to feel old crawling around under the house on my knees.

I also had some garbage and old materials to clean up under the house.

The wall around the house starts to be finished.

The gap between the house and the wall is for ventilation.

The platform for the septic tanks is taking shape at last.

The water tank is getting ready but you can see in-front of it how much water we have coming from rain and through the ground.

Dana at school

Dana had a presentation in school today.

All the kids had to have a mask it was said, probably for the shy ones to easier talk if they felt they could hide at the same time.

And when it was Dana's turn the mask was gone. 99% of what the kids showed under the presentation to demonstrate what they have learned is made by parents....it is a joke I think, sorry teacher but I would like to see what the kids actually make even if it is ugly.

Dana's school had a parents day where all the classes had different things to perform. Dana's class was doing an indigenous dance

I think the kids had more fun on their own after the dance anyway?

Doors and windows in Mindo

Finally the windows are coming to place. Sadly this meant that 2 birds who got used to sleep under our roof didn't see the glass and died when crashing, RIP

Just dug out for the water tank this morning and it right away got filled with water filtrating through the soil.

The hole for the septic tank also got filled with water.

Mindo house tour

Here is how the house looks now that doors and windows are coming to place and it starts to feel like we are reaching our dream but still we are not ready for another 3 to 4 months at least but it all depends on time and money so lets see.

New Years day

New Years day we spent at the hotel pool in the morning. Here Kiara is trying to swim and shows her swim-face

She needs to learn that a closed mouth is better when learning to swim.

Dana with her friend that she tried to push whenever possible.

Lucas enjoyed the slide in the big pool and are often practicing to dive.

Inthe afternoon we stayed with Zulemas family and Kiara right away found her friend Ciara to play with.
