Working in Mindo

We decided that it would be better if I went to Mindo for some time during Monday to Friday to help out with the installation of the roof. As it first turned out the workers love to spread around the garbage and old working materials so it took me over 2 full days just to gather up everything in 3 spots around the house and start burning the stuff, mainly old wood.

Also it took some time to clean up inside the house with a lot of old nails, sawdust etc everywhere.

Most of the old roof had to be stapled up to not take to much space and this took some time.

Visit to Mindo with the kids

Lucas, Kiara and Dana were happy to make a short visit to the house in Mindo and the nagging about a dog came up again

Before the first class started their program, Dana had to make sure she got the attention for the parents on the way over to mommy.

Each class parades into the school yard to get presented. Everything is very formal here in Ecuador.

Swim-school for Lucas and Kiara

As Kiara has started in Lucas school this year, 2:nd class, she is also taking part of the swim-school that they have here and she is doing great. She has no fear and it scares me a bit as she could easily jump in without flotations even if she would sink, My girl is a bit crazy.

Lucas is doing great swimming as well and he gets better and better. At the moment he is practicing his leg kicking.

Mindo construction in coma

The house is moving on slowly as the workers seems to have gone on vacation. Just as we got started again and were on the way to install the metal roof we discovered that the wooden roof apparently was of bad quality as it started to crack all over so now we have to change this. To not have to call in extra workers I will put on my work-pants for the first time in 9 years to help change the roof as soon as the new wood is ready and in place. I really hope that we soon can get the damn roof finished as well as the windows and the entrance door so that we can start working on details inside.
